Fall Wedding DEcor Trends We're Loving Right Now

Between the weddings we shoot and the venues we walk through every season, we get a front-row seat to what's actually trending — not just what's pinned, but what couples are genuinely building into their day. Here's what's caught our eye (and our lens) this fall.

Oversized, Sculptural Florals

Instead of symmetrical, uniform arrangements, we're seeing tall, asymmetrical floral installations with dramatic movement — trailing greenery, oversized blooms, unexpected height. These photograph incredibly well because they create natural depth and framing for portraits.

Candlelight Over String Lights

String lights had their moment — now we're seeing couples lean into candlelight: taper candles down the length of reception tables, clustered pillar candles, lanterns lining the aisle. As photographers, we love this shift. Candlelight creates a warmth and intimacy in photos that's hard to replicate any other way.

## Micro-Moments Over Macro-Decor

Less "go big on every surface," more intentional, personal touches — a handwritten vow book on display, a small table of family photos, a signature cocktail named after a shared memory. These details might seem small, but they're often the ones couples ask us to make sure we photograph.

Mixed Metals

Gold and brass used to dominate every tablescape; now we're seeing couples mix in silver, matte black, and brushed bronze for a more layered, collected-over-time feel rather than a matched set. It photographs with more texture and visual interest than an all-gold palette.

"Trends come and go, but the details that photograph best are almost always the ones that mean something to you — not the ones that are 'in' this season."

A Reminder From Your Photographer

Whatever you choose, make sure your decor team knows your ceremony and portrait timing — certain installations (especially oversized florals) need to be placed with photography sightlines in mind, not just how they look walking in. We're always happy to loop in with your florist or planner ahead of time to make sure everything is positioned where it'll actually shine in your gallery.
